Self-Sufficiency and Housing Stability

SeniorHALO's goal is to help those who are experiencing homelessness regain self-sufficiency and housing stability.

HALO offers case management and access to a comprehensive network of support services designed to promote self-sufficiency and housing stability. Understanding that everyone comes to HALO with their own individual story is vital to our ability to help them.

Individual Success and Housing Stability Plan

Working  with their case manager to address personal needs and identify goals, program participants create an Individual Success and Housing Stability Plan. This plan provides a clear path to self-sufficiency and housing stability by coordinating supportive services tailored to meet individual needs.

Support services can include mental health counseling, addiction recovery, literacy and GED training, anger management, legal assistance, employment coaching, parenting lessons, health and nutrition guidance, budgeting and financial counseling, vocational training, life skills and more.

Outcomes

HALO’s goals include maintaining or improving our client success rate; supporting our local economy by adding educated, skilled workers to the workforce; and strengthening the community by supporting the healthy development of children. This is accomplished with case management and access to the many supportive services in our community.

HALO defines client success by three variables:

  1. Completing goals in the Individual Success and Housing Stability Plan;
  2. Gaining, increasing or retaining a source of income; and
  3. Attaining and maintaining stable housing.
